3. Cats Notice Physical Changes When You’re Sick
When a human becomes ill, subtle changes occur in the body, including:

Cats have a highly developed sense of smell and are extremely sensitive to routine changes. When you’re sick, you don’t just feel different — you also smell and move differently.
This is why some cats become unusually attentive when their owner is unwell. Sitting closer, following you, or resting on your chest are common behaviors.
From a survival standpoint, cats are wired to monitor the health of those in their social group. Your illness represents a change in the stability of their environment — something their instincts tell them to pay attention to.
